Here is Quentin Andrew just a few moments after birth. He is being checked out by the nurses and is using his lungs to great effect. You can hear me talking on the phone to the kids at home. They were able to hear him cry over the phone, so that was neat.

As it is the end of the year, I am going through my computer and trying to make sure that I have uploaded all relevant videos and such to the great archival service that is the World Wide Web. These are some of the highlights of McKenzie dancing. First we begin our tour with McKenzie in the church Christmas musical this year.
Then we look as she was a court jester in last years musical.

Here is her performing in the worship dance class she was a part of last year. Caleb played the part of baby Jesus, but I couldn’t get all of the program on my camera.

Being self employed, I have the kids with me when I am going to the bank to deposit checks. Micah was giving me the regular grilling, “Why do you have to put checks in the bank?”
Me, “Because it is safer for the bank to have the money than for me to carry it around with me.”
Micah, “But what if someone robs the bank?”
Me, “Then that is the banks problem, not mine.”
Micah, “How do you get the money out?”
Me, “The same way I put it in.”
Micah,” You mean the bank just hands you your money?”
At this point Aiden must correct us all. “No!, banks don’t have arms!”
He is right, banks don’t have arms.

Aiden turned 4 last weekend and we took him to the photographer to have a 4 year old portrait of him done. Evidently, the photographer was pretty smitten with his cuteness and asked if she could “Put him on her wall” along with photos of other kids and people. Aiden didn’t know what to think about that and responded, “But I don’t know how to stand on a wall!”
Take a stand.

Overheard at our house the other day.
Aiden, “Hey look, a Pumpkin Bird!”
McKenzie, “Silly Aiden, that’s a Robin, we don’t have Orels here!”
(Our kids have yet to learn the fine distinctions of bird watching, like how to pronounce oriole)
Go Baltimore Pumpkin Birds!

I don’t remember being so excited about stuff like this when I was a kid, but evidently, my kids are. Having four kids requires that we have the requisite number of booster seats, car seats, infant carriers and such. Well, this past weekend, we ‘upgraded’ two of our kids to new booster seats. Aiden got McKenzie’s old one and Caleb will soon graduate to Aiden’s. So the older two got brand spankin new ones. I was going to go to the hardware store to get some hardware and I asked if Micah wanted to go. “Only if we take the van!” “Why do we have to take the van?” “So I can sit in my new booster seat!”
Then, later on this weekend, (it was Cheryl and I’s 11th anniversary!) as we were gone out to dinner, my mother-in-law was watching the kids. Micah had dissappeared and she was having a hard time finding him. She eventually found him. He as sitting out in the garage in the van in his new booster seat. Such fun!
I was playing catch with Aiden last night. He brought up a little nerf football and asked me to play catch with him. We tried for a little while, but of course, when you miss throw or can’t catch a football, it bounces every which way and you spend more time chasing the ball than playing catch with it. I suggested he get a round ball as that would be easier. He found a small orange ping pong ball and proceeded to inform me that it would work because it was ‘more rollish’.
